Over a Million Images

So for some reason I have over 1.2 million images in my iPhoto application. What and how can this be? I upgraded to Leopard recently and when I did I backed up everything that was on the old hard drive for that “just in case” situation. i didn’t think that I would really need to go back to the old OS but now I’m not so sure. I was going through all of these images and the one thing that I see is that there are like 10 duplicates of everything. Even the baby pictures from when Javi was in the hospital. The only thing I think I didn’t see any doubles of was the pictures we took of the baby shower invitations and the first outfit pictures from the hospital. There are only really about 1000 to maybe 1800 pictures in there that are originals. So everything else is trash. But can I send them to the trash ??? no I cant !!! I tried to go through and delete all the duplicates and you will never guess what … yeah thats right .. they are now duplicated in the trash folder. And to top it off I think that this in some way has had an adverse effect on our iPhone. The iPhone stopped taking pictures all of a sudden. Go Figure!
