Monté Carlo Casino Fire

If you are a lover of going to the Strip in Las Vegas don’t head to the south end of the strip right now. The Monté Carlo Casino was on fire form around 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM when firefighters finally got the blaze under control. The fire appears to have started in the center of the hotel on the very top on the West Side of the building. Firefighters from Clark County and Las Vegas Firefighters were all on the scene and working together to get the blaze under control.

The New York New York and the Belagio were both evacuated due to the fire and finally after over an hour and a half the Monté Carlo was also evacuated. Officially that is!

Now that the fire is under control they are going to have to start the investigation into how the fire started. There were some workers trapped on the roof, welders working up there, but they got them out of harms way pretty fast. If you look at the news you can see that the fire started somewhere on the roof and was falling over the side of the hotel and landing on the balconies of the rooms below spreading the fire to the lower floors.

Another casino fire in only a few months time. Wasn’t it Hooters that was on fire just a short time ago? Or near there? It’s said that none of the inside of the hotel was damaged by the fire. The fire was contained quickly by the LVFD and the CCFD and did not reach the inside of the rooms on the upper floors of the building. Curious because the fire was dropping on the balconies of the rooms below. Some fire had to get into those rooms.
