Camping Adventure

We have been training and getting ready for a camping adventure. Tonight we decided that we are going to go ahead to the spot that we want to camp at and not take the boys with us. It is going to be a little cold where we want to go so taking them this time is not such a great idea. Especially with the baby being so little still. He would love to play out there but we would like it to be just a little warmer for him.

Quinn is super excited to go but I would like him to also wait till the weather is a little better. He has been asking to go camping all winter. Every day he asks if we are going camping and can he go. He has been camping a few times with me and with us but not when it is this cold outside. He is even asking if he can have and carry his own backpack. HA! I bet he makes it 1/10 of the way before I end up carrying it for him the rest of the way. He may do well with it so I will stay open minded about him carrying a pack. I think I will have him carry one of my camel backs with water just to see how he does with a pack on for an hour. The hike shouldn’t take us much longer than that. Or at least we can stop every now and then till he is used to having a back pack on.

This time we are going to keep the kids at home maybe find a sitter for the two days that we will be gone. There is a spot that I was shown this weekend and I really want to go check it out. I don’t care that it is cold and actually I would rather head out there in the cold so that I can get a good lay of the terrain and set up a course for the next time when we do take the boys.

The hike in should take us around two hours. I am figuring in some time for the slower half of the party. This weekend we will map it all out and get the rest of the food and the smaller stove that I want. I “think” everyone is excited about going. I know I am REALLY excited to head out somewhere that we can get our heads back on straight and clear out the cobwebs. I need some natural inspiration. Plus I really can’t wait to get some great pictures.
